Gallium68-Dotatate PET-CT is a somatostatin-receptor (SSTR) based imaging modality employed in the diagnosis and follow-up of Neuroendocrine Tumours (NET). We set out to investigate the incidence of incidental findings, some of which are related to SSTR expression, in our NET patient cohort in Oxford University Hospital. Sixty-eight patients underwent Gallium68-Dotatate PET-CT between June 2020 and June 2021. 40 patients (59%) were female, and median age ...

We present the case of a 54-year-old woman with known metastatic non-functional pancreatic NET since 2004 that developed new debilitating recurrent hypoglycemia in 2013. The patient presented in 2004 with disseminated malignancy. Radiology revealed a large pancreatic mass associated with multiple liver lesions and abdominal lymphadenopathy. Liver biopsy confirmed well differentiated NET. Initial treatment with cisplatin etoposide chemotherapy was poorly tolerated and discontin...

Introduction and aim: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (PNETs) may occur sporadically (sPNETs) or as part of the multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1(MEN1) syndrome, which is characterised by occurrence of PNETs, parathyroid and anterior pituitary tumours. Our aim was to review the management of these patients in relation to the clinical practice MEN1 guidelines, and the ENETS and UKINETS guidelines for PNETs.Patients and methods: Patients attending with...

We report a retrospective, single centre observational study to determine the characteristics and outcomes of pancreatic insulinoma. Interrogation of the Oxford NET database, a departmental database of new NET MDT referrals since 2011 (n = 1059), revealed 23/1059 (2.1%) patients with insulinoma diagnosed and treated between 2011 and 2018. Patient records were reviewed and data was captured on demographics, presentation, investigations, treatments and outcomes: 15/23 (...

Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) presenting as metastatic cancer of unknown primary site (CUP) are suspected to confer poorer prognosis compared to metastatic NETs of known primary site. We performed a retrospective, single centre study to determine the prognostic indicators in CUP-NETs compared to metastatic small intestinal NET (SiNET), before and after adjusting for factors known to affect overall survival. Subjects were selected from a departmental database of 1050 NET patien...
